How to Install Chatdek on Joomla

You need your Chatdek account and your snippet. It looks like this, with your own key in place of YOUR_KEY:

You also need permission to edit your Joomla site's code or scripts.

Back up your site. In the administrator area open System, then Site Templates, and choose your active template's details and files.

Open index.php and paste your snippet just before the closing </body> tag. Alternatively, create a Custom module in a footer position and paste the snippet in its code view (with the editor set to None).

Save and reload your site in a private window.

After saving, open your website in a private window, wait a few seconds and look for the chat button. If you do not see it, clear any caching plugin or CDN cache and reload.

Then open the Install Guide in the Chatdek portal; it confirms when it can see the widget on your website.

Make sure you pasted the whole line, with nothing added inside the quotes, and that it is saved and published.

Check that a cookie or security plugin is not blocking third-party scripts, and that your domain matches the website address in your Chatdek account.
